Jonathan Toews Joins Exclusive Club With Hat Trick

Toews now has 21 goals on the season

Chicago Blackhawks captain Jonathan Toews had a day to remember on Sunday as he netted a hat trick, and his huge day helped him to join an exclusive club.

Toews, who now has 21 goals on the season, has scored at least 20 goals in each of his first 12 seasons in the NHL, and it is that feat that has landed him in such elite company.

According to the NHL, Toews is now only the third active player to score 20 or more goals in each of his first 12 NHL seasons, joining Patrick Kane, who got to the 20-goal mark earlier this season, and Alex Ovechkin, who has hit that mark in each of his first 14 career NHL seasons, including this one.

Toews has already scored more goals than he scored last season, and could potentially get a career high in tallies this year, as he chases down the 34 he scored during the 2008-09 season.
