Blackhawks vs. Oilers: Patrick Kane Returns to Lineup

Kane missed Wednesday's loss to the Vancouver Canucks

The Chicago Blackhawks are in the middle of their first losing streak of the season, but they will get a key contributor back on Thursday night, as they take on the Edmonton Oilers for the second time in five days.

The Blackhawks, who dropped an overtime decision to the Oilers on Sunday, will head to Edmonton for the game, and they will have Patrick Kane back on the ice after he missed Wednesday’s game due to illness.

Kane will be trying to get the Blackhawks back in the win column, as the team has dropped three consecutive games for the first time this season. The Blackhawks have lost three of their last four games away from the United Center, and will try to rebound after falling apart late against the Vancouver Canucks a night ago.

The Blackhawks will also start Cam Ward in net, as the team has been hesitant thus far to start Corey Crawford on back-to-back nights as he eases his way back into the mix. Crawford gave up four goals on 28 shots Wednesday, but has a solid 2.72 goals against in six starts this season.

Ward played well against the Oilers on Sunday, but didn’t get any offensive support as the Blackhawks dropped a 2-1 decision.

Puck drop between the two teams is scheduled for 8 p.m.
