Corey Crawford Takes Ice for First Time Since Injury, Report Says

Crawford has not skated since February, but apparently took the ice last week

The health of Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Corey Crawford has been the hottest topic of conversation among fans this offseason, but the fanbase may be getting some good news as training camp is set to open this week.

According to a report from NBCS Chicago’s Pat Boyle, Crawford skated last week in the run-up to training camp, the first time he’s actually been on the ice since he tried to come back from his undisclosed injury in February.

Through the offseason, the Blackhawks have said that they believe Crawford will be ready for the start of the regular season, but a clearer picture will be painted this week as he takes his physical and gets ready for the team’s camp, which begins Friday.

It’s unclear whether Crawford will begin camp as a full participant, but the team will likely take a cautious approach with him after he missed the entire second half of the 2017-18 season.
