Anton Forsberg Unveils Sweet New Blackhawks Mask

Chicago Blackhawks goaltender Anton Forsberg may be new to the organization, but his new mask is a tremendous tribute to his new team.

Forsberg, acquired in a trade with the Columbus Blue Jackets earlier this summer, is widely considered to be the front-runner to be named the team’s back-up goaltender this season, and fans will likely be hoping he sees the ice at least a little bit when they see his new helmet:

“I love to mix old school look with modern effects,” artist Dave Gunnarsson said of the design that he says “lives and breathes” the Chicago Blackhawks.

The mask features multiple Blackhawks logos, as well as the “C” with tomahawks logo that is featured on the team’s shoulders.

The Blackhawks will make their season debut on Thursday night when they welcome the Pittsburgh Penguins to the United Center. Puck drop is scheduled for 7:30 p.m. on NBC Sports Chicago.
