Blackhawks' Crawford Might Not Return This Season: Report

The Chicago Blackhawks are growing increasingly worried goalie Corey Crawford could be out for the rest of the season due to “vertigo-like symptoms,” the Chicago Sun-Times is reporting, citing three unnamed sources.

Crawford was put on injured reserve after Christmas “leading to wild and rampant speculation” about his ability to complete the season, the newspaper reported. Coach Joel Quenneville has said little about Crawford’s “upper-body injury.”

"There’s not much to say until he’s back on the ice,” General manager Stan Bowman told the paper. “It’s sort of status quo right now.”

“He’s been arguably our key player all year, and [with] the consistency he’s given us in the net, we know how valuable the position is and what it means to your team,” Quenneville said Sunday, the paper reported.

The Blackhawks declined to respond to NBC 5’s request for comment Tuesday night.
