Marian Hossa Placed on Injured Reserve

The Chicago Blackhawks will be without Marian Hossa for the foreseeable future, as the forward was placed on injured reserve on Sunday afternoon.

Hossa suffered a lower body injury during the Hawks' 3-2 loss to the Anaheim Ducks on Saturday night, and after putting him through a series of tests, the team has opted to place him on IR.

The Blackhawks also made another roster move on Sunday, as they recalled forward Vincent Hinostroza from the AHL's Rockford IceHogs.

Hossa sustained the injury in the second period of Saturday's game on a hit from Ducks defenseman Hampus Lindholm. The hip check sent Hossa sprawling into the boards, where he was slow to get up from the impact.

Hossa did not return to the game.
