Blackhawks to Open Season Versus LA Kings

Team faces Stanley Cup champions in first post-lockout test

The Chicago Blackhawks won't be able to take their time getting their legs together to start the season.

The team will kick off its lockout-shortened season Jan. 19 on the road versus the Stanley Cup champion LA Kings.

The game will be broadcast on NBC at 2 p.m.

League officials have not released a  full schedule.

The NHL's board of governors unanimously ratified the league's collective bargaining agreement with the players Wednesday. The players are expected to officially sign off in the next couple of days.
