Blackhawks Will Open 2016 Playoffs on Road

The Chicago Blackhawks will open the 2016 Stanley Cup Playoffs on the road after they were forced into an overtime period against the St. Louis Blues.

The Hawks led the St. Louis Blues 1-0 with about a minute to go in the third period of their game against the Blues at the United Center, but Vladimir Tarasenko forced overtime when he beat an out-of-position Scott Darling.

The Dallas Stars' victory over the Colorado Avalanche helped seal the Hawks' fate, who will be forced to open the postseason on the road against either the Stars or Blues, depending on the outcome of the teams' games on Saturday night.
