Blackhawks Prospect Ryan Hartman Suspended Three Games

This is Hartman's second suspension this year

Chicago Blackhawks prospect Ryan Hartman is one of the most penalized-players in the AHL this season, but his campaign hit a new low on Wednesday as the forward was suspended for three games by the league for an illegal hit.

Hartman, who has 69 penalty minutes in 27 games with the IceHogs this season, received the suspension after being ejected from Rockford’s Monday game against the Milwaukee Admirals for an illegal hit to the head of an opponent.

This is the second suspension for Hartman in the last calendar year, following a one-game ban he received in January 2015.

Here is what Hartman had to say after the game:

The suspension will cost Hartman the team’s first three games after the Christmas break, with the forward missing games against Milwaukee, Iowa, and Chicago in the coming week.

Hartman, who was a first round pick of the Blackhawks in the 2013 NHL Entry Draft, has appeared in eight games for the Blackhawks, including three this season. He picked up his first career assist earlier this year.
