Small Explosion Reported Near CTA Station



    A small explosion sent people running Tuesday night from a downtown CTA train station.

    Police were responding to an explosion at the CTA Red Line Jackson Street station, at 230 S. State St., at about 6:40 p.m.,  a Central District officer said.

    According to an unconfirmed report, an M-80 possibly ignited at the station, but police could not confirm the report. 

    The station is located at South State Street and East Jackson Boulevard.
