Police took one person into custody Saturday afternoon about six hours after he barricaded himself inside a building in the South Side’s Back of the Yards neighborhood.
No injuries were reported.
Police responded about 9:30 a.m. to a report of a man who holed himself in the basement of a building at 5117 S. Winchester Ave., police said.
The incident reportedly started after a dispute between a landlord and a tenant, authorities said.
The man was believed to be armed, but there is no indication he has taken any hostages, police said.
Police said at 3:45 a.m., the incident was over and the man was taken into custody. Nobody was injured.
