Hospice Worker Accused of Ripping Off Dying Woman

A widower in Orland Park says he'll do all he can to make sure a hospice worker who was caring for his recently deceased wife loses her license, after allegedly stealing from her dying patient.

Cassandra Mitchell, 36, 7215 S. Princeton Ave., Chicago, was charged Jan. 22 with felony unlawful use of a credit card. Police said Mitchell used the patient's two credit cards to make purchases at Target, McDonald's, Jewel-Osco and a gas station.

"I will pursue it to the best of my ability," said Tony Gleiznis, whose wife died Dec. 27 after a 34-month battle with cancer. "You don't really want people like that on the street. There are some people who are very easy to take advantage of."
