Doctor Attacked in North Side Office

A doctor was attacked in her North Side office Monday by a man with a knife.

Police say the offender walked into the physician's office in a medical building near St. Joseph's Hospital, on North Commonwealth Avenue, asking for directions.  He then pulled a knife and put it to the doctor's throat, forcing to her to the floor.

The victim suffered a puncture wound to her thigh and various other cuts, but was then able to disarm the man. He continued to punch her until he got up and fled.

Police are looking for a man who is described as black, about 5-feet 8-inches to 5-feet 10-inches tall and weighing between 140 and 170 pounds.  He was last seen wearing a white shirt with black stripes.
