U.S. Sen. Roland Burris has spent the day touring a veterans medical center and U.S. Navy training center north of Chicago, but he stuck to his pledge to not speak publicly or answer any more questions about the evolving story of his Senate appointment.
He eluded waiting news cameras and reporters at each stop, the Associated Press reported.
