A 7-month-old West Rogers Park baby boy died Tuesday after a Friday fall at his North Side home.
Sufyan Mirza, 7 months, of North Troy Avenue, fell at his home Friday and was pronounced dead at 7:40 p.m. Tuesday at Children’s Memorial Hospital, according to the Cook County Medical Examiner’s office.
Police responded to the home about 11 a.m. Friday, according to police News Affairs Officer Robert Perez, who said Mirza was initially taken to Saint Francis Hospital in Evanston.
Perez said the death appears accidental, but detectives are awaiting the results of a Wednesday autopsy. Details about the fall were not immediately available.
The Department of Children and Family Services was not immediately available for comment.
Belmont Area detectives are investigating.
