2-Year-Old Boy Struck, Killed By Car



    A 2-year-old boy was killed Saturday evening after he was hit by a vehicle in a South Side alley.

    About 4:45 p.m., a vehicle traveling north in an alley in the 7200 block of South Sacramento Avenue struck a 2-year-old boy, police News Affairs Sgt. Antoinette Ursitti said. 

    The boy was taken to Advocate Christ Medical Center in Oak Lawn, where he was pronounced dead at 5:19 p.m., Ursitti said.

    The vehicle did not flee the scene and no citations had been issued as of 7:30 p.m.

    The Cook County Medical Examiner's office had been notified of the fatality, but had no further details available.

    The police Major Accident Investigation Unit is probing the crash.
