Postseason hero Anthony Rizzo is the longest tenured Cub and unofficial team captain. His passion and leadership has spearheaded Cubs crucial wins in October. In Game 3 of the 2017 NLDS against the Nationals, with the game tied at one with two outs in the 8th inning, Rizzo came through in the big moment and drove in the game-winning hit. Rizzo turned to the dugout and yelled “RESPECT ME!” rallying his team, who would go onto win the series 3-2.
In the 2016 World Series, Rizzo scored 7 runs and 5 RBIs. However, it isn’t Rizzo’s offense that will be his most memorable play but the last out of the World Series. The three-time Gold Glove winner caught Kris Bryant’s throw from the Michael Martinez ground out in the bottom of the 10th inning. KB's final out in Game 7 of the 2016 World Series clinched the Cubs first title in 108 years.
