Threadless Launches ‘Ideas' T-Shirt Contest

Chicago Ideas Week is still a couple months away, but one Chicago company is already in the midst of their big idea. Threadless, the popular internet T-shirt store, launched a Chicago Ideas Week T-Shirt Challenge.

Threadless is encouraging creative minds to submit their T-shirt design inspired by the theme "ideas."

Users can visit the Threadless website and vote for their favorite design. The winning shirt will be worn by staff and volunteers at Ideas Week and will be available for sale to the 15,000 Ideas Week participants.

Design ideas have already rolled into Threadless headquarters, and people are invited to submit designs until Aug. 11. Those who aren't as creatively inclined are invited to go to Threadless' website and start voting.

In addition to donating shirts for the staff and volunteers, Threadless also will offer a lab session at Chicago Ideas Week. Dustin Henderlong, Partnerships Manager for Threadless, says the lab will show a behind-the-scenes look at how the T-shirt company operates.
