While Black Friday has come to an end, some people are hoping that consumers saved some pennies for the Small Business Saturday movement.
Small Business Saturday is a movement geared to push consumers to support smaller businesses. It's going into its second year boasting almost three million followers on Facebook.
"It's been a tough year but everyone is holding on for December," said small shop owner Laurel Stradford. She's running the sale of buy two items and get the third half off.
The Obama administration is also promoting Small Business Saturday with events scheduled in Hyde Park and other locations around Chicago.
According to the website, Small Business Saturday is asking people to "shop small" and help fuel the local economy.
