Go to There: 2013 Womenetics Chicago POW! Awards

Hey folks, it’s barely even spring yet — in fact, that still feels an awful way away — but it’s time to check your bad-weather blues and ditch ‘em in favor of some more celebratory gestures and exclamations. It feels like the Innovation Awards were just yesterday, and around the corner comes an awards show that’s just as important: The 2013 POW! Awards, which is being held by Womenetics, a Chicago- and Atlanta-based company “that accelerates business through women’s leadership,” will be honoring nine women who “forge new paths and serve as leadership role models” in the business community. The event will be taking place March 7 from 11 a.m. ’til 1:30 p.m., at the Sheraton Chicago Hotel and Towers at 301 E. North Water St., and single tickets run $135.

What’s especially worth noting is the presence of honorees Julie Savitt and Emilia DiMenco, who, respectively, are the president of AMS Earthmovers and COO of the Women’s Business Development Center. There will be ample time to network and the like, so check it out if it's in your price range.
