Go to There: Workshop on Getting Government Biz

Is your start-up ready to take on government projects? If so, this seminar is perfect for you.

Even if you're not sure, this will clear it up: the Women’s Business Development Center will hold a set of seminars on Tuesday offering tips on how to obtain government business.

There are many lucrative opportunities within government contracts, and not just catering DMV office parties (though that could be interesting, too). Recent reports have said that of the more than 20 million small businesses in the United States, only about 500,000 are currently in a position to do business with federal government agencies. That isn’t necessarily because they are better-suited to the work - it’s because they know how to get it.

This workshop focuses on determining if your business is at the right stage to pursue opportunities with government agencies and major corporations, and how to market your business to them. It includes steps to identify contract opportunities, and the websites to find bid opportunities.

The workshop will be held Tuesday, April 26 at the WBDC, 8 South Michigan Avenue, 4th Floor at 9:30 and 11:30 a.m. Tickets are $15.00 by pre-registering here or $20.00 at the door.
