A Peek Inside: George the Salon

It’s a place with a funny-seeming name, but George the Salon on Hubbard in downtown Chicago is an establishment forged out of celebrity hairstylist/owner George Gonzalez’s many years of experience. George has worked as a freelance stylist at the Spa at Harpo, where he has “worked on makeover segments for the The Oprah Winfrey Show [and] currently the salon continues its Harpo connection now styling Rosie O’Donnell’s hair for The Rosie Show.”

But Gonzalez, and, indeed, his salon, isn’t about celebrity or posh for poshness’ sake. He believes “working with hair an art form that offers him the opportunity to learn more about himself.” And here, in the accompanying gallery, you can learn more about the man and his salon. Enjoy!
