Zach Miller Thanks Fans in Heartfelt Message Upon Returning to Chicago

"You are the best family, friends and fans in the world! I have been down before and I will do whatever it takes to get back up!"

Chicago Bears tight end Zach Miller tweeted a heartfelt message to Bears fans Monday as he prepares to return to Chicago for the first time since suffering a catastrophic knee injury last week.

“My wife Kristen and I are so incredibly thankful for the outpouring of love and support that we have received from our family, friends, the McCaskey family and the Chicago Bears organization, fans and the many players, coaches and staff from around the NFL," Miller wrote in a message to fans. "Your well wishes have been extremely humbling and comforting."

Miller suffered a dislocated knee after catching a ball in the Bears’ game against New Orleans, was rushed to a local hospital after medical personnel determined that he had torn an artery in his knee. After undergoing surgery, doctors were able to restore blood flow and save Miller’s leg, although the fate of his NFL career is still very much up in the air.

Countless people, including members of the Saints and Bears owner George McCaskey, have visited Miller in the hospital since the injury.

In his message, titled "With All My Love," Miller thanked numerous doctors at the University Medical Center of New Orleans, saying, "Without their teamwork, expertise and urgent care I do not know if the outcome would have been as successful."

"We have cleared many hurdles and with the help of our team doctors and training staff we will continue to progress."

As for what he misses most in Chicago? Miller said he can't wait to get back today to "see my children and give them the biggest hug ever!"

"I understand the challenges ahead, but the amount of love and support I have from all of you is beyond inspiring. I thank God every day for this life! I ask for your continued prayers and blessings! You are the best family, friends and fans in the world! I have been down before and I will do whatever it takes to get back up!"
