Hester, Wade Keep Busy During Lockouts

The NFL and NBA are both in a lockout, but some players are keeping busy despite the down time.

Chicago Bear Devin Hester and Chicago native Dwyane Wade of the Miami Heat are hosting summer camps at Lincoln-Way Central High School in New Lenox. The camps teach children the importance of the game and let them participate in drills with their role models.

The prolonged NFL collective bargaining agreement prohibits players from organized team practices. But Hester doesn't seem to mind the break that could possibly be resolved by July 15.

"Now I get to sleep in!" said Hester.

The NFL lockout could potentially be coming to an end, but the NBA lockout is just beginning. And that isn't stopping Wade from evaluating his new competition, Chicago Bulls draft pick Jimmy Butler.

"Obviously, he had a great career at Marquette and we actually had a great relationship, but now he's a competitor in a very tough Eastern conference," said Wade. "I'm happy for Jimmy, I'm happy for all the guys."

As the two players are waiting for an agreement, both Wade and Hester are helping develop the skills of future football and basketball players.
