Von Miller Won't Play vs. Chicago Bears: Report

The Chicago Bears will open up their preseason schedule on Thursday against the Denver Broncos, but the team will not have to face one of the NFL’s best linebackers when the two teams meet.

That’s because linebacker Von Miller will not play against the Bears, according to KUSA’s Mike Klis. Miller is not injured according to the report, but with players like Shane Ray and Shaq Barrett out of the lineup, the Broncos are taking a cautious approach and holding Miller out of the game.

Miller had another stellar year for the Broncos in 2016, racking up 13 and a half sacks and 78 combined tackles in 16 games. He also forced three fumbles and defended three passes as the lynchpin of the Broncos’ defense.

Miller also sat out last season’s preseason game between the Broncos and Bears, a game that Denver won 22-0 at Soldier Field.
