Not a Misprint: Bears Favored to Beat Packers Sunday

For years, the Green Bay Packers have routinely tortured the Chicago Bears, but this week, the Bears actually have something to brag about.

For the first time in nearly a decade, the Bears are actually the betting favorites to beat their NFC North rivals, as they are a five-point favorite at most sportsbooks in Las Vegas.

The Bears haven’t been favored in a game against Green Bay since December of 2008. That game, which also took place at Soldier Field, saw the Bears go into the contest as four point favorites, but they were unable to cover the spread in a 20-17 win over their biggest rivals.

The Packers are the underdogs in the game because of the poor play of quarterback Brett Hundley, who struggled badly against the Detroit Lions on Monday Night Football this week. Add to that the fact that the Bears have been playing strong defense of late, and you could potentially have a recipe for success on the lakefront.

The Bears and Packers will square off at Soldier Field on Sunday afternoon, with a noon kickoff scheduled between the two teams.
