NFL Free Agency Tracker: Potential Bears Offensive Targets

The Chicago Bears have their quarterback of the future in Mitchell Trubisky, and now they’re going about the work of placing quality players around him.

With needs at wide receiver and on their offensive line, the Bears have work to do this offseason, and here are some of the players that Ryan Pace could target.

Senio Kelemete – Guard

With Josh Sitton out of the fold, the Bears will be looking for a guard to play opposite of Kyle Long, and Kelemete could be that guy. The Saints absolutely loved having him, and Pace could eyeball him as a strong piece to shore up the left side of the team’s line.

Jack Mewhort – Tackle

Mewhort has had a lot of trouble staying healthy, but the Bears could stand an upgrade at the tackle position, and the team might be willing to roll the dice and take a chance on him.

Justin Pugh – Guard

The New York Giants are gunning hard for Andrew Norell, meaning that Pugh could end up on the market. He has played both left guard and right tackle, both of which are positions of need for the Bears. If he can stay healthy (and that’s a big if as he comes off a back injury), he could be just what the doctor ordered for the Bears.

Allen Robinson – Wide Receiver Signed

The Bears reportedly are expected to sign Robinson to a contract, and he could give Trubisky the down-field threat that he lacked in his rookie season. His knee injury could be a deterrent, as the team already has Cameron Meredith and Kevin White coming off of injuries, but his skillset is undeniable, and he would be an instant upgrade at the receiver position.

Nate Solder – Tackle

If the Bears want to land Solder as a tackle, they would have to not only beat out teams like the Browns and Patriots, but would also have to beat the clock, as Pro Football Talk says the star has said he wants to have his decision made by the time free agency opens.

Sammy Watkins – Wide Receiver Signed

After the Bears signed Robinson, they abandoned their pursuit of Watkins, who ultimately signed with the Kansas City Chiefs according to multiple reports.
