The Chicago Bears are hoping to make some big moves forward in 2018, and at least one player believes in the team’s chances to make some noise in the postseason.
That player is running back Jordan Howard, who channelled his inner Alshon Jeffery and guaranteed that the Bears would make the playoffs next season.
Speaking on “Good Morning Football” on the NFL Network, Howard said that he believes in the team’s chances.
“The Bears are definitely going to have a winning season,” he said. “We’re going to get to the playoffs. So I guarantee we get to the playoffs.”
Howard’s guarantee echoes that of Jeffery, who guaranteed that his team would reach the Super Bowl. Of course, he didn’t specify which team, and that was a good thing as the Philadelphia Eagles won the title with Jeffery hauling in three receptions in the Big Game.
Howard’s confidence was echoed by G.M. Ryan Pace at the NFL Combine on Wednesday.
“I appreciate his passion and his swag,” Pace said. “Jordan’s confident right now. Matt (Nagy) and I, we like to keep things in house, but Jordan’s just being positive and optimistic.”
