The Chicago Bears continued their search for their new kicker on Wednesday, and they’ve reportedly landed on a contender with an interesting name.

According to Brad Biggs of the Chicago Tribune, the Bears had several kickers at Halas Hall this week for tryouts, and they have signed Chris Blewitt to a contract.

Blewitt had a solid career at Pitt, making 97.1 percent of his extra point attempts and 69.6 percent of his field goals over four seasons with the Panthers. He went 10-of-17 on field goals in his final collegiate season in 2016, and made 95.7 percent of his extra points.

The Bears will move on from kicker Cody Parkey after he missed a game-winning kick during the NFC Wild Card Game against the Philadelphia Eagles. Earlier this offseason the team signed Redford Jones to a reserve contract, and G.M. Ryan Pace expects to have several contenders present when the team begins training camp in July.
