Chicago Bears Seek Nominations for $1 Million in Charitable Grants

The Bears will donate $100,000 apiece to 10 different charities in the team's home market

As part of the ongoing celebration of the team’s centennial, the Chicago Bears announced that they will be seeking fan input as the club gives $1 million to local charities.

The All Pros Initiative, announced by the Bears on Sunday, will give a total of $1 million to 10 different charities within the team's Home Market Area, defined as any area within 75 miles of the city of Chicago.

The team says that all 10 charities will be nominated by fans in an open application process that launched Sunday and will run through Friday, May 31. A total of nine charities will be chosen by an internal committee organized by the Bears, and then three more charities will compete in a fan vote to determine the 10th charity that will receive a grant of $100,000.

The final charity will be announced before the final regular season home game, according to the Bears.
