Bears vs. 49ers: Akiem Hicks Misses Practice Due to Illness

Eddie Jackson and Aaron Lynch missed practice for the second straight day

A pair of key players from the Chicago Bears’ defense were once again absent from practice on Thursday at Halas Hall, but another player popped up on the team’s injury report, as defensive tackle Akiem Hicks missed the workout.

Hicks, who was elected to the Pro Bowl this week, missed Thursday’s workout due to illness, the team announced. His status for Sunday’s game against the San Francisco 49ers is unclear and will be updated on the final injury report of the week on Friday.

The two Bears that were once again out for Chicago were safety Eddie Jackson, who is dealing with a sprained ankle, and linebacker Aaron Lynch, who sprained his elbow in a game against the Green Bay Packers on Thursday.

Head coach matt Nagy does not believe that either injury is season-ending, but there is a possibility they won’t be on the field for Sunday’s game in the Bay Area.

49ers linebacker Mark Nzeocha missed his second straight practice with a groin injury, and safety Jaquiski Tartt, who was limited in Wednesday’s workout with a shoulder issue, did not practice either.
