Chicago Bears Take Roquan Smith in NFL Draft

The Chicago Bears have selected Georgia linebacker Roquan Smith with the eighth overall pick in the NFL Draft.

Smith, who registered 137 tackles and six and a half sacks in his final season, figures to be a day one starter for the Bears as they look to solidify their pass rush and their front seven.

His best game came in the SEC Championship tilt against Auburn, when he registered 10 tackles and a sack in helping the Bulldogs to a 28-7 victory over the Tigers, which sealed their berth in the College Football Playoff.

Smith had 252 career tackles in 38 career games with the Bulldogs.
