Despite missing Khalil Mack and Allen Robinson, the Chicago Bears made it look easy on Sunday, dispatching the New York Jets in a 24-10 victory at Soldier Field.

Mitchell Trubisky threw for 220 yards and two touchdowns in the game, and Jordan Howard bulldozed his way through the Jets for 81 yards and a touchdown in the victory.

Sam Darnold threw for 153 yards and a touchdown for the Jets, but New York was held to just 207 yards of offense by a Bears team missing its primary pass rusher.

The Bears got off to a fast start on offense thanks to a brilliantly designed screen pass by head coach Matt Nagy. Trubisky found Tarik Cohen wide open underneath, and the running back did the rest as he scampered untouched to the end zone for a 70-yard score and a 7-0 Bears lead.

That score held until early in the second quarter when Jason Myers knocked through a field goal, but the Bears’ offense continued to sputter until the third quarter got underway. Then the Bears finally found their rhythm, embarking on a nine play, 55 yard drive that culminated in a deft four-yard touchdown pass from Trubisky to Anthony Miller, giving the Bears a 14-3 lead.

The Bears would remain in front for the rest of the game, pushing back a potential Jets rally late when Howard capped off a 79-yard drive with a two-yard touchdown plunge to give the Bears their 14-point margin of victory.

The Bears will finish off their run through the AFC East next week when they take on the Buffalo Bills on the road. Meanwhile, the Jets will head to South beach to take on the Miami Dolphins.
