Chicago Bears Select James Daniels in 2nd Round of NFL Draft

The Chicago Bears have provided quarterback Mitchell Trubisky with some serious protection up front as they drafted Iowa center James Daniels in the second round of the NFL Draft.

Daniels, who appeared in 12 games with the Hawkeyes last season, was one of the top-ranked interior linemen in this year’s draft class, and GM Ryan Pace will hope that he can help bolster a line that is undergoing some pretty serious changes this offseason.

In all likelihood, Daniels will be viewed as a replacement at center for Cody Whitehair, who will likely move to left guard to replace Josh Sitton.

The Bears currently do not own a third round pick, but have two fourth-round picks when the NFL Draft resumes Saturday morning in Dallas.
