Chicago Bears' Strong Finish an Historic One

Potentially lost in the shuffle of the Chicago Bears reaching the postseason is a stat that is going to be of particular interest to fans pining for a championship.

The Bears, who went 12-4 and won the NFC North this season, won nine of their last ten games to get to that mark, and it’s been quite a long time since they’ve achieved that level of success down the stretch.

According to the team’s Twitter account, the last time they won nine of their last ten games to wrap up the regular season was in 1985, when the team won its first, and only, Super Bowl title.

In that magical season, the Bears only lost one game, falling to the Miami Dolphins in a famous defeat. That loss ended the team’s hopes of finishing off an undefeated season, but it didn’t seem to deter them as they ended up romping through the playoffs and beating the New England Patriots in Super Bowl XX.
