There is plenty of doom and gloom surrounding the Chicago Bears after their loss to the Green Bay Packers in Week 1, but there were at least a few bright spots to take out of the contest.
The team’s defense played incredibly well, limiting Aaron Rodgers to just 203 yards passing and a touchdown, and the Packers only rushed for 47 yards on 22 carries in the winning effort.

Rodgers Needs An Ice Bath
The Bears’ defense got to Rodgers early and often in the game, sacking him five times and hitting him a total of seven times in the contest.
According to the Bears’ public relations department, the five sacks are tied for the most the Bears have ever managed against Rodgers, matching the total that they were able to rack up in a 2018 win against the Packers.

Leonard Floyd: Saving His Best for the Packers
If there was any doubt that Floyd enjoys being on the big stage, it was dispelled on Thursday night, as he registered four tackles and a pair of sacks against the Packers, terrorizing the team all night with his aggressive speed and great instincts.
The multi-sack game was the fifth of Floyd’s NFL career, and three of those games have indeed come against the Packers.

The Cubs and Bears Combined For a Unique Evening
As the Bears were taking on the Packers at Soldier Field, the Chicago Cubs and Milwaukee Brewers were doing battle up in Wisconsin.
Obviously things went a bit better for the Cubs, as they were 10-5 winners over the Brewers, but even in defeat, the Bears were able to share in an interesting accomplishment.
According to Pro Football Reference and Pro Baseball Reference, Thursday marked just the second time in history that the Cubs have played the Brewers and the Bears have played the Packers on the same date.
In the other recorded instance on Sept. 28, 2014, the Packers shellacked the Bears 38-17 at Lambeau Field, while the Cubs recorded a 5-2 win over the Brewers at Miller Park.
Allen Robinson’s Big Night
Allen Robinson had a big debut for the Bears on Thursday, catching seven passes for 102 yards.
According to Pro Football Reference, only 16 players in Bears history have registered 100 or more receiving yards against the Packers in a single game since the NFL-AFL merger in 1970, and only seven have achieved the feat in the last 23 years.
The last two Bears to go over 100 yards receiving against Green Bay did so in the same game, as Cameron Meredith and Deonte Thompson both eclipsed the century mark in a 30-27 loss to the Packers on Dec. 18, 2016.
