Houston-Carson, Cooper Ruled Out for Bears vs. Cardinals

The Chicago Bears will be without two members of their secondary on Sunday, as Marcus Cooper Sr. and DeAndre Houston-Carson will both miss the team’s game against the Arizona Cardinals.

Houston-Carson has been recovering from a broken forearm, and was a limited participant in practice throughout the week. He will miss his third straight game to start the season, according to the team’s final injury report on Friday.

As for Cooper, the cornerback had first appeared on the injury report Friday with a hamstring issue, and he will be unable to play against the Cardinals when the Bears travel to Arizona.

Bears lineman Kyle Long was also on the injury report on Friday as he continues to rest his ankle injury, but he is expected to play on Sunday.

On the Cardinals’ side of things, they will be without one of their starting offensive linemen, as Andre Smith will miss the game with an elbow injury. Defensive tackle Olsen Pierre will also miss the game as he deals with a toe issue.

Wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald, who suffered a hamstring injury last week, is questionable for the game, as are safety Rudy Ford, linebacker Dennis Gardeck, defensive end Markus Golden, and tight end Jermaine Gresham.

Rookie wide receiver Christian Kirk did not practice Thursday, but returned to the field Friday and is expected to play against the Bears.
