Chicago Bears Add DeAndre Houston-Carson to Active Roster

The Chicago Bears had to make a roster move on Tuesday, as they signed DeAndre Houston-Carson to their active roster.

Houston-Carson, the team’s sixth-round pick in the 2016 NFL Draft, has registered two tackles in his Bears career, and did not make the team out of training camp this summer.

According to reports, the Bears were forced to sign Houston-Carson to a contract because the Philadelphia Eagles were looking into signing him to their roster.

To make room for Houston-Carson on the roster, the Bears waived wide receiver Tanner Gentry. The undrafted rookie receiver made his NFL debut in the Bears’ loss to the Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Sunday, hauling in two catches for 27 yards in the 29-7 loss at the hands of the Bucs.
