Former Bears Star Charles Tillman Trying to Join FBI: Reports

Former Chicago Bears cornerback Charles Tillman is used to defending against a team’s passing attack, but apparently he’s working on protecting something even more important.

According to multiple reports, Tillman is at the FBI Training Academy in Quantico, VA and is training in an effort to join the bureau.

ESPN reported that Tillman was at the academy, and Fox Sports’ Dave Wannstedt told the Chicago Tribune that Tillman is indeed training for a potential FBI career.

It’s not hard to imagine Tillman succeeding at bringing down bad guys. He forced 44 fumbles in his career with his patented “Peanut Punch), and he was widely regarded as one of the top cornerbacks in the NFL throughout his 12-year tenure with the Bears.

There was at least some indication that Tillman could potentially make the jump into law enforcement, as he majored in criminal justice at the University of Louisiana-Lafayette.
