Long, Sitton Out for Bears vs. Vikings Monday

The Chicago Bears are in for a stern test against the Minnesota Vikings on Monday night, and they’ll have to play against one of the best defenses in the NFL without two of their key offensive linemen.

Three-time Pro Bowl guard Kyle Long has been ruled inactive for the Bears on Monday as he continues to deal with a triceps injury that he suffered in the team’s loss to the Green Bay Packers in their last game. Long has also been dealing with a bum shoulder throughout the season, and with injuries piling up, he is just the latest player to miss time for the Bears this year.

Josh Sitton will also miss the game, as he continues to deal with an ankle ailment. Sitton, who was acquired from the Packers before the season, has been a standout at left guard, helping to shepherd center Cody Whitehair through the paces of his first NFL season.

Long and Sitton aren’t the only Bears players who were declared inactive for Monday’s game. Wide receiver Eddie Royal will once again be out of commission for the Bears, as will defensive tackle Eddie Goldman, who is still out with an ankle injury that he suffered early in the season.

Defensive backs Bryce Callahan (hamstring) and Deiondre’ Hall (ankle) will also miss Monday’s game with injuries, and tight end Daniel Brown was a healthy inactive as the Bears prepare to face the Vikings.

Kickoff is slated for 7:30 p.m., and the game will air on ESPN.
