Vikings Player Rescues Bears Fan From Minnesota Lake

You couldn't blame a certain Chicago Bears fan if he started questioning his team loyalty after he was rescued from a Minnesota lake by Vikings' linebacker Chad Greenway Monday.

Edward and Crystal Alexis had embarked on the maiden voyage aboard their new boat on Lake Minnetonka when they got stuck near a spillway.

The pair was trying to keep the boat from slamming into the rocks and getting sucked over the spillway when Greenway came to their aid.

"So, I just ran down, of course with my two little girls following behind me, trying to stay out of the way, and I figured I'd help them out. It looked like it was dangerous," Greenway told Minneapolis NBC affiliate KARE-TV.

Greenway helped push the boat into an inlet and waited with the couple until the water patrol arrived.

The couple didn't know it was an NFL player helping them out -- much less a Vikings player -- which turns out is a sore subject in their home.

Crystal is a Vikings fan and Edward rolls with Chicago.

"I'm a Chicago Bears fan, I'm just going to keep it real," said Edward with a laugh.

After saving them from the boat, Greenway then drove the soaking wet couple to retrieve their car.

"Good thing he told me that after!" Greenway joked.
