Brian Urlacher has never been a big trash talker. It's just not his way. He'd rather tackle people than hurt them with words. His trash talk is more about quality than quantity.
Take his response to Dhani Jones, the Bengals linebacker who ripped Urlacher as overrated on NFL Network earlier this week. Urlacher appeared on ESPN Radio and had a classic response to Jones.
“I think we were drafted in the same class, right? Is he a 2000 guy? I haven’t heard anything about him since then,” Urlacher said. “I saw him on a TV show with a bow tie on, though. So I know him better for how he dresses than what he does on a football field.
Oh, SNAP. Urlacher used the double-hit technique on Jones. First, he played the, "And you arrrre?" card, then moved on to point out what Jones is known for, which is not tackling.
In fact, Jones can't hold a candle to Urlacher. They were both drafted in 2000, but that's where the similarities end. Urlacher is a seven-time Pro Bowler, four-time All Pro, and Dhani Jones was not. Urlacher has 1,192 tackles and 41.5 sacks, while Jones has 891 tackles and 9.5 sacks.
But Urlacher's right. Jones does have him beat in the fashion department. Hopefully, that means Urlacher will step up his sartorial game and will sport a bowtie in the coming season.
