The secret weapon for the Bears win was not on the field Sunday afternoon.
NBA star and south suburban native Dwyane Wade was in Dallas supporting his hometown team.
Wade, who rejected the Bulls in free agency this summer, spoke with several of the Bears before the game. After the game, he tweeted that he inspired the Bears' excellent play, saying, "It must have been that pregame talk with D. Hester and [Jay Cutler]," and that Cutler told Wade that he would put on a show at Cowboys Stadium.
Jay Cutler returned the favor, tweeting after the game, "Big win today. Soldier Field better get loud next Monday vs the Packers. Thanks to [Dwyane Wade] for the support today."
Wade won a championship with the Miami Heat in 2006 and convinced superstars LeBron James and Chris Bosh to join him in Florida for this season. Hopefully, his winning ways rubbed off on Cutler and the Bears.
