Robbie Gould Sets New Bears Field Goal Record

The Chicago Bears just kicked off their season Sunday afternoon against the Green Bay Packers, but one player has already set a new franchise record.

That player is kicker Robbie Gould, whose 28-yard field goal in the first quarter gave him 244 made field goals in his Bears career. That made kick means that Gould is now alone in first place on the all-time list for the Bears, moving one ahead of Kevin Butler in that category.

Gould, who has been with the team since signing as an undrafted free agent in the 2005 season, has made 85.6 percent of his field goal attempts in his Bears career. That number is also the highest in team history.
