Pros and Cons of a Bears Barbarian

According to ESPN.com, Marion Barber has been a beast in training camp.

"Barber drew loud crowd reaction by a display of brute strength when he nearly toppled over a blocking sled during a step-and-punch drill."

That's the blessing and curse of a powerful running back like Barber.  He's going to dish out a ton of punishment (something the Bears haven't had in a back since... Ironhead Heyward?), but he's also going to take a ton of punishment too.

Barber is 28 years old, rapidly approaching the expiration of the 30-year running back warranty. He doesn't have a lot of wear and tear on his legs because he shared time in the Dallas backfield. But he uses his body like a battering ram.

Smart money says Barber ends up getting hurt sometime this year. But when he's on the field, he's going to give Soldier Field something to cheer about.
