The Chicago Bears are preparing to take on the San Diego Chargers on Monday night, and they will do so without two of their key offensive contributors — Matt Forte and Eddie Royal.
Both players suffered knee injuries during the Bears’ loss last week to the Minnesota Vikings, and neither has participated in practice this week.
Forte has not missed a game since the 2012 season, and he’s only missed a total of five games in his eight-year NFL career. He will be replaced in the starting lineup by rookie Jeremy Langford, who will make his first career start for the Bears on Sunday. Royal will have his touches likely picked up by Marquess Wilson, and both Cameron Meredith and Marc Mariani will see time at the receiver position.
