Matt Forte Back at Practice

The Bears got a sliver of good news Wednesday as Pro Bowl running back Matt Forte returned to practice after being sidelined with an ankle injury. He said he is hopeful to play on Monday when Chicago plays Dallas.

Forte said the key is that the swelling in his ankle has finally been quelled.

"I didn't really swell up in the ankle," Forte said, "so that's the big part. When you have an ankle injury when the swelling is big, takes a long time to get it out. But I didn't really swell up, so I felt like I'd be back pretty soon."

Chicago really needs Forte to return. With Michael Bush and Kahlil Bell, the Bears had just 103 yards against the Rams on Sunday. Former Packer Ryan Grant worked out for the team, but then decided to sign with the Washington Redskins.
