Man Charged with Rape at Meriweather Home

Newly signed Bears Safety Brandon Meriweather's Massachusetts home was allegedly used as the location for a rape.

A 29-year-old Mississippi man is free on $10,000 bond Tuesday after being charged with raping a woman at the 28 Payson Road home in Foxboro, Mass., according to the Sun Chronicle. James Roberts pleaded not guilty during an Aug. 25 arraignment.

The alleged attack reportedly occurred on July 13, 2011, at Meriweather's home.

Meriweather has not been charged in the crime, but the Patriots' cast-off does have a history of legal trouble.

He was involved in a shooting in Miami, where he attended college, in 2006. During his time at the University of Miami he was involved in an on-the-field melee.
