Fight in Practice Shows Off Bears' Nasty Streak

Practice became tense late on Friday when Martellus Bennett and Kelvin Hayden got into a fight that one player said "livened up things." Bennett attributed it to him just being mean.

"It's hot, you know," Bennett said. "I am actually a mean person. I know you all think I joke around and (stuff) but I am very aggressive. They are aggressive with me, I am aggressive with them. You come hard at me, I come hard at you all day. I don't back down for anything, anyone."

Marc Trestman gave Bennett time to cool off, and he came back and spoke to the team in a huddle. Major Wright said it was just football.

"It gets everybody riled up. It gets everybody going. Even if you were not having a good day, that kind of gets you going," Wright said. "Overall, today was a good day other than that little scuffle we got into. But that happens for teams. We'll move on and get better."

It was already a day where the Bears were thrown off their rhythm. Thunderstorms moved their practice to the afternoon, when it was warm and humid. A fight like this shows the Bears have a nasty streak they have been missing for a long time. Imagine Bennett being mean and aggressive with Green Bay.
