Bears Shelve Bush, Sign Bell in Latest Blow to Offense

The Bears' offensive situation is just not getting better. Michael Bush was placed on injured reserve Tuesday, so he's out for the rest of the season. The Bears re-signed on again and off-again Bear Kahlil Bell to provide some insurance as the Bears try to make the playoffs in the next two games.

Bush suffered a rib injury. Though he was dressed on Sunday, he didn't play. Serving as a back-up to Matt Forte, Bush ran for 411 yards in 13 games. He was most valuable in short yardage situations. Armando Allen has been a pleasant surprise and has 100 yards this season. Bell played in two games for the Bears this season, compiling 32 yards.

It's the latest blow to the Bears offense that has been struggling. They've averaged just over 14 points in the last three games, and couldn't take advantage of two red zone situations against the Packers. Now, the Bears will need to win the next two games and receive help from the rest of the NFC to make the playoffs.
